From News Center (Text by Ren Yijing, Student Affairs Department (Office) of the CPC LZPU Committee; Photo by Chen Chen, Publicity Department of the CPC LZPU Committee) In the golden autumn of September, the fragrance of sweet osmanthus fills the air. September 10 coincided with the registration day for freshmen enrolled in 2026 and the 42nd Teachers' Day. On this special day marking both departure and gratitude, LZPU held an orientation birthday party themed "Teachers' Grace Nourishes the Original Aspiration, Youth Embarks on a New Journey" in Conference Room 300 of the Administration Building on Shewan Campus. Liu Zilin, Secretary of the CPC LZPU Committee, and Qiu Fuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC LZPU Committee and Vice President of LZPU, attended the event. Also present were heads of the Student Affairs Department (Office) of the CPC LZPU Committee and the Logistics and Infrastructure Office, as well as representatives of freshmen enrolled in 2026 whose birthdays fell on that day, parent representatives, and freshman counselors.
At the event, Liu Zilin extended birthday greetings to all the birthday celebrants on behalf of the university, expressed a warm welcome to new students and their parents, and conveyed holiday greetings to the counselors working on the front line of student affairs. He pointed out that this orientation birthday party is an important part of the university's "Warm Enrollment" education project. By integrating freshman registration, collective birthday celebrations, and Teachers' Day celebrations, it aims to make students feel the warmth of the campus from their very first day. He offered three hopes for the freshmen: First, maintain a grateful heart and integrate personal ideals into the overall national development; second, work hard to hone skills, cultivate the spirit of craftsmanship, and master solid professional skills; third, adapt to university life as soon as possible, grow positively, and achieve all-round development. He stated that the university will always implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, wholeheartedly nurture the growth and success of every student, and also thanked all parents for their trust in and support of the university. Liu Zilin also presented commemorative birthday gifts to eight birthday celebrants, bringing them exclusive warmth and pleasant surprises on their first day of registration.
Afterwards, Qiu Fuming drew five lucky winners on the spot and awarded them the university's own brand of river snail rice noodles as prizes, adding a lighthearted and joyful atmosphere for both students and teachers.
At the event, freshmen took turns introducing themselves, sharing their feelings upon enrollment and their aspirations for university life. Freshman parent representatives also spoke, expressing expectations for their children's growth and recognition of the university's educational endeavors. During the Teachers' Day blessing session, student representatives presented flowers to counselor representatives and wished the hardworking teachers a "Happy Teachers' Day," conveying deep respect and gratitude. Finally, everyone sang the birthday song together, cut the birthday cake full of blessings, and celebrated the birthday while expressing gratitude to teachers in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
This orientation birthday party integrated humanistic care and respect for teachers into the first stage of freshman orientation, demonstrating the university's warm and caring educational philosophy while further bridging the gap between home and school, as well as teachers and students. Looking ahead, the university will continue to advance the "Warm Enrollment" education project with more meticulous services and warmer measures, helping all freshmen quickly adapt to campus life and forge ahead steadily on the path of developing skills and achieving success.
