LZPU Honored with the Title of "Outstanding Partner" by the Ministry of Education of Thailand
On March 24, 2025, at the closing ceremony of the first tailored class for Shennan Circuits Co., Ltd. (SCC), Thai student Su Wang received his certificate of completion from an official representing the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) under Thailand's Ministry of Education. Speaking fluent Chinese, he shared his heartfelt sentiments: "I will always cherish this wonderful experience of studying and interning in China." At that moment, 259 days have passed since he first arrived at Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU). This Thai student, who once knew nothing about the Chinese language, can now communicate fluently in Chinese for everyday conversations. On the same day, OVEC officially presented LZPU with the "Outstanding Partner" certificate in recognition of its exceptional contributions to fostering the integration of industry and education between China and Thailand.
Through the collaborative training program between LZPU and SCC, Su achieved significant progress in language proficiency and experienced a qualitative leap in professional skills.
In the workshop at SCC, Su collaborates with his Chinese classmate, Lu Tingwei, to support one another. A familiar scene unfolds as Su holds his breath, focusing intently on Lu Tingwei's guidance to adjust the parameters of the PCB drill bit, as well as the position and size of the positioning hole.
Lu would promptly remind Su in Thai whenever he saw sweat dripping down Su's goggles: "Hold on, take your time." When the green indicator light came on, Su excitedly raised his arms and shouted in the Chinese he had just learned, "We made it!" These two "workers" share not only a classmate bond but also a teacher-student relationship. This moment vividly demonstrates LZPU and SCC's collaborative exploration of two-way customized training for Chinese and Thai students, integrating "non-universal language + vocational skills" with "Chinese + vocational skills.
After completing the intensive training at LZPU, students from the two-way tailored class began their internships at SCC, where Chinese and Thai students were paired together. This creates a unique collaborative model that combines "skills and language exchange." Wu Hao, a teacher at LZPU, introduced that this immersive training enables Thai students to master an average of 20 Chinese technical words per day, and Chinese students can also use simple Thai for basic technical communication. Chen Shizheng, the human resources manager at SCC, praised the students, saying, "These students not only understand the equipment's technical parameters in both Chinese and Thai, but they also teach each other these languages in their daily interactions. They are truly cross-cultural talents."
In his video speech at the closing ceremony of the SCC Tailored Class, Mr. Yodsapol Venukosess, Secretary-General of OVEC, offered high praise for the school-enterprise collaborative education model, "The SCC Tailored Class program exemplifies the seamless integration of education and industry. It not only enhances students' academic skills but also fosters long-term friendly relations between Thailand and China, while further promoting cultural exchange. This initiative represents a significant step toward the modernization and efficient advancement of bilateral education."
It is reported that since 2021, with the support of OVEC, LZPU has begun collaborating with various advanced manufacturing companies to provide tailored training for Chinese and Thai students. In response to the employment needs of various advanced manufacturing enterprises at different stages of development abroad, LZPU has designed flexible training programs. Through in-depth collaboration with six Thai institutions, including Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) and Nakhonsawan Technical College, as well as Chinese companies such as LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd., SCC, and Zhuhai Founder Printed Circuit Board Development Limited ("Founder PCB"), LZPU implements a two-way tailored training approach that combines "non-common language/Chinese + vocational skills" for Chinese and Thai students. To rapidly develop qualified, skilled professionals, LZPU has designed a customized "short-term intensive training + on-the-job internship" model specifically for the SCC and Founder PCB tailored classes during the preparation phase. In 2024 alone, LZPU has trained nearly 150 technical and skilled professionals through the tailored class program for Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand, providing robust talent support for the global expansion of advanced manufacturing companies.
