On the afternoon of December 30, 2024, the LZPU Quality Development Award Ceremony 2024 was held at the Oriental Dream Theater located in Liukong Culture and Art Park. Leaders, faculty members, and student representatives from LZPU gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of LZPU in 2024 and to unite for the journey ahead in 2025.

Reflecting on LZPU in 2024, the upgrading to a bachelor's degree-granting institution stands out as the most exciting highlight. Since 2021, LZPU has dedicated over 1,000 days and nights to achieving this goal. This year's Quality Development Awards include a special "Award for Contribution to LZPU's Upgrading", created to honor LZPU members who have committed their efforts to this achievement. Specifically, 13 departments, including the Upgrading Preparation Office, along with secondary schools, received the honorary title of "Outstanding Collective". Meanwhile, 20 departments, including the Development Planning and Quality Management Office, as well as secondary schools, were honored with the title of "Advanced Collective". Liu Zilin, Secretary of the Party Committee of LZPU, and Gan Jinming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of LZPU and President of LZPU, presented awards to the representatives of the winners.

At the ceremony, the "Contribution Award" and the "Service Award" were presented. Following a rigorous selection process, a total of 70 achievements were honored with the "Contribution Award", and 21 departments received the "Service Award". Among these, 6 achievements, including the "Advanced Collective in National Education System in 2024: School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering", were recognized with the "First Prize in the Contribution Awards", and 6 departments, including the Party Committee Office and the LZPU Office, won the "First Prize in the Service Awards".

The event also featured the presentation of the "2024 Jinhui Award" and the "Craftsmanship and Contribution Commemorative Medal". This year, 29 teachers were honored with the "Jinhui Award" upon their retirement. Representatives of both teachers and students from LZPU presented six retired teacher representatives with a red scarf, symbolizing the warmth of LZPU. This red scarf represents the dedication of LZPU educators, who have nurtured generations of students with their hard work and wisdom. Their spirit has been passed down through the years, lighting the way for future generations and inspiring every LZPU member to remain true to their original aspirations and forge ahead.

At the event, the exclusive, customized "Craftsmanship and Contribution Commemorative Medal" was awarded to teachers who have served at LZPU for over 30 years. As black-and-white photos from their early days were projected on the screen and a video showcased their journey across time, everyone in attendance, both teachers and students, honored them with heartfelt applause.

The performances at the event were truly wonderful, featuring musicals, fashion shows, and song-and-dance numbers. Liu Zilin and Gan Jinming joined in, bringing the atmosphere to a climax. The musical Journey of LZPU's Upgrading, created and sincerely performed by the university's teachers and students, encapsulated all the details of LZPU's efforts in the upgrading. It moved everyone present, bringing many to tears. International students and students from the School of Trade and Tourism Management presented a situational fashion show titled Let the World Fall in Love with China, highlighting the cultural characteristics and charm of various countries and nations. Students from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering once again staged the historical program Skillful Craftsmen in the New Era, offering a vivid portrayal of the "Ingenious LZPU" spirit. Students from the School of Arts performed a dance titled Sing a Folk Song to Our Party, showcasing national unity. Teachers performed the song Country · Family, expressing deep emotional connections and a sense of responsibility. Teacher representatives who received the "Craftsmanship and Contribution Commemorative Medal" presented their interpretation of Youth. Boys and girls from LZPU shared the story of staying true to their ideals without hesitation in the dance performance Brave the Wind and Waves, Overcoming Brambles and Thorns.

Finally, the event concluded with a song and dance performance titled Creating a New Future. In 2025, LZPU will embark on a new journey as a vocational undergraduate institution. With renewed enthusiasm and stronger conviction, we will forge ahead together to embody the spirit of LZPU through practical actions, demonstrate our sense of responsibility and character, and collaboratively create a wonderful new chapter for LZPU.
