From News Center (Text by Liang Zhu, School of General Education; Photo by Chen Qing, School of General Education) On July 2, 2026, the regional finals of the 5th Guangxi "Teachers of Excellence—Creating a Better New Life Together, Seeking Outstanding Community Teachers" competition successfully concluded in Studio No. 8 of the Nanning Converged Media Center. Liang Zhu, a faculty member at the School of General Education of LZPU, won third prize in the faculty category. Thanks to her solid expertise in her major, mature teaching skills, and consistently outstanding performance during the competition, she successfully navigated multiple rounds of rigorous competition—including preliminary screenings, online evaluations, and the live finals—to achieve this honor.

Organized by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, this competition aims to identify high-quality community education teaching resources, promote the concept of lifelong learning, and empower the high-quality development of grassroots community education. Since its launch, the competition has drawn widespread participation from schools, communities, and open universities across the region, receiving more than 400 entries in total. It is characterized by its large number of participants, broad coverage, and high level of competition. The competition covers eight distinctive areas: health and fitness, intangible cultural heritage preservation, humanities and arts, life skills, community governance and emergency management, family education and reading/expression, ethics and the rule of law, and rural revitalization. It comprehensively addresses the diverse, everyday learning needs of grassroots communities, making the competition particularly intense.

At the finals, Liang Zhu focused on common pain points in family education and conducted a lesson demonstration themed "Parent-Child Communication." The course addresses the challenges contemporary families face in parent-child relationships and is tailored to everyday communication scenarios in ordinary households. Through thoughtful instructional design, immersive role-playing, and clear, practical explanations, it vividly and intuitively demonstrates the practical application of nonviolent communication in family settings. The course combines professional expertise, practicality, and a human touch; its content is down-to-earth and its methods are actionable, precisely addressing real-world challenges in family education, and it received high recognition and unanimous praise from the on-site judges.

This award reflects LZPU's deep commitment to community education and proactive efforts to serve local development. In accordance with the organizing committee's overall plan, Liang Zhu will subsequently visit communities to teach a series of parent-child communication courses tailored to residents' needs, thereby transforming the outcomes of her competition entry into concrete actions that serve the families in the community. LZPU will also take this as a new starting point to continue encouraging teachers to engage in community education initiatives, refine more high-quality courses that are "down-to-earth and effective," and make an even greater contribution to building a lifelong learning system for all.
