Pilot Launch: Integrating Professional & Standardization Education
From News Center (Text by Yang Geyao and Li Zhuo, School of Trade and Tourism Management; Photo by Li Zhuo, School of Trade and Tourism Management) On the morning of May 15, the opening and co-construction signing ceremony of the National Pilot Program Integrating Professional and Standardization Education was held at Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU). The university’s micro-major of New Media Operation and Standardization Construction was officially launched as one of the first national pilot programs for integrating professional and standardization education, which adopt a "professional education and training mode." This marks a key progress made by the university in standardization education and interdisciplinary talent cultivation, and also injects fresh momentum into the cultivation of standardization talents in China.
Attending the ceremony were Chen Zhengzhen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of LZPU, Song Yang, Deputy Director of the Standardization Division of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Administration for Market Regulation, Jin Yu, Deputy Director of Liuzhou Administration for Market Regulation, and Yang Luojian, Secretary-General of Liuzhou Standard Technology Association. Representatives from Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd., Guangxi Luobawang Food Technology Co., Ltd., Guangxi Zhongliu Food Technology Co., Ltd., Yanzhi Cube (Xiamen) Industry-Education Integration Technology Group Co., Ltd. and other enterprises also attended the event.
In his address, Chen Zhengzhen stated that as a national key vocational university, LZPU has been deeply engaged in standardization education for years. Taking this pilot program launch as an opportunity, the university will focus on improving collaborative mechanisms, developing teaching resources, cultivating industrial talents, and enhancing demonstration and leading influence in four key aspects.
Song Yang pointed out that the pilot program integrating professional and standardization education is the first of its kind for talent cultivation reform jointly launched by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Education. He put forward three expectations for the pilot: organize carefully and pilot proactively, align closely with industrial needs to achieve in-depth integration, and pursue open cooperation oriented toward ASEAN, so as to contribute Guangxi’s standardization wisdom to the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Jin Yu expressed the hope that all parties shall collaboratively innovate the talent cultivation mode featuring "majors plus standardization", and targetedly cultivate interdisciplinary talents who are proficient in new media, are conversant with industrial standards, and can serve the ASEAN market, thus truly realize the goal of fostering talents via standards, boosting industries through talents, and strengthening Liuzhou through industrial development.
The co-construction agreement for the micro-major was signed at the ceremony, providing solid guarantee for the pilot construction. Meanwhile, attending leaders presented appointment letters to enterprise mentors, and dual teams for teaching and standard research and development were officially established.
It is learned that the micro-major of New Media Operation and Standardization Construction applied for by the School of Trade and Tourism Management of LZPU has been selected into the first national pilot programs for integrating professional and standardization education as well as the standardization pilot projects of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Closely responding to the strategy of strengthening Guangxi through industry and high-quality development of digital economy, the program focuses on the digital transformation demands of industries such as new energy vehicles and Liuzhou river snail rice noodles, and coordinates the construction of national-level micro-majors and the formulation of multi-level standards. Leveraging the region's ASEAN-facing location, it integrates standardization concepts into the whole talent cultivation process, striving to build a new hub for standardized talent cultivation with industrial leadership and regional demonstration effect.
Going forward, LZPU will take this pilot program as an opportunity, adhere to the dual-driven development of talent cultivation and standard formulation, explore ways to align with ASEAN and international rules, and contribute vocational education strength to building a prosperous new Guangxi, advancing the high-quality development of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, and deepening China-ASEAN opening-up and cooperation.
